About Us

TRIDENT SWIM TEAM is a competitive swimming team based in Penang. We are committed to building and developing competitive swimming in Penang and Malaysia.

Trident Swim Team is a swimming team built for competition. In addition to preparing swimmers for competition, we aim to teach our swimmers good values, attitude and discipline.

Based at Permata Sports Complex, Penang, our training center is equipped with a 50-meter Olympic-sized swimming pool and a modest gymnasium. Our swimmers are coached by highly qualified and experienced coaches.

Our swimmers train and compete for the sake of their interests and passion in the sport. Their achievements serve the Team, and ultimately the interests of the State of Penang. Our goal is to bring Penang back to its excellence in the sport of competitive swimming.

Our Head Coach, Mr. Andrew Oon, is a former National Coach and have trained National swimmers based in Bukit Jalil in 2011. His qualifications include FINA Level 2 Certified Swimming Coaching and Malaysia Level 2 Certified Competitive Swim Coaching.

Mr. Andrew Oon is currently a National Swimming Coaching Instructor and Examiner under the Amateur Swimming Union of Malaysia (ASUM). He received training as a competitive coach in Perth, Australia in 2010 and also represented Malaysia as National Coach during the 2008 SEA Age Group Swimming Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.

His public contributions include writing an article for The Encyclopedia of Malaysia Volume 15 (Sports and Recreation) where he authored the chapter on Aquatics (Pg 118-119).

Jess Lee awarded Best Girl in Group 5 category

During the recent PASA Annual Awards Luncheon, Jess Lee Yen Yi won the Best Girl award for the Girls Group 5 category.

In the recent 2012 PASA Meet, Jess Lee won 7 individual gold medals and 1 silver medal, 2 relay gold medals, as well as breaking two PASA Meet records and two Penang State Age Group records.
